Northstar Dance-O-Rama (Day 3)

Saturday started out with our Open Freestyle Competition.  If you like "Dancing with the Stars" then you would have LOVED this!!  Our competitors worked hard, for months, perfecting their techniques and choreography to impress the judges and the audience.  All the while competing for that top student award! 

Saturday night we had an incredible evening of live music, general dancing and gorgeous costumes!!  We transformed the ballroom into one of the most elegant places around!  During our incredible cocktail party, the students that competed all weekend long got a chance to let their hair down and really show us what they had.  The men were handsome and the women were gorgeous!  We had a fantastic four course meal, then tons of social dancing with all of our new friends from all over the country.  We were able to enjoy the great music of MSP, a fabulous live band!!  Throughout the evening we had some of Arthur Murray's top professional competitors trying to become the 2007 Northstar Dance-O-Rama Champions.  Congratulations to Hunter and Maria Johnson, of Texas, for winning the Smooth portion of our evening.  And Quinten Mac Adam & Jill DeMarlo, from Chicago, took 1^st place in our Rhythm competition as well as 2^nd place in our Smooth!  But, not only the professionals, took home awards.  The awards to all of our professional competitors were given by our proud sponsors Rolf & Mary Garborg and Mr. Sandy Navin.  Thank you both for your generosity and loyalty to Arthur Murray's.  Our own Minneapolis studio got a large portion of our student awards as well as the prestigious TOP STUDIO award!  Congratulations to Anne Miller,  Joanne Mambretti and Jean Sauer for participating and making us proud!  Annabel Bavaud, took home a top solo award and the Newcomer's "A" Top Student award.  Gloria Mihevc received the Newcomers "B" Top Student Award.  Our Associate Bronze Top Student award went to Patsy Gerde and Nancy Witowski won our Full Bronze Top Student Award.  Jim Grey was our Top Male Newcomer, John Larsen was our Associate Silver Top Student, Tom McCarvel became our Full Silver Top Student and our Top Gold Student was Sandy Navin.  Again, congratulations to all of our participants and winners!
